Medical Insights: What We're Looking for and How to Submit

What is Medical Insights?

Medical Insights is a vertical on Op-Med that features study breakdowns, resources, and insights from medical professionals on popular topics in medicine.

What do we accept?

1) Discussion of recently published studies or clinical guidelines, including rebuttals:

4) Interviews with medical professionals:

5) Discussion about holes in treatment or areas where we need more research:

Topics we're looking for:

We are especially interested in essays that touch on oncology, dermatology, or rheumatology.

Beyond that, we welcome articles on:

  • Off-label peptide injections.
  • Testosterone supplementation.
  • Polio travel advisory.
  • Overprescribing of GLPs.
  • Compounded GLPs: issues, legal fight, FDA warnings.
  • Rise of colorectal cancer in patients under age 40.
  • AI use in medicine: Utah AI prescribing, AI chatbots for surgery.
  • Statin relabeling to reduce warnings.
  • Removal of black box warning for HRT, boom in HRT use, what’s behind the removal of warning.
  • Private equity in primary care, specialty care, surgery.
  • The pros and cons of full body MRIs.
  • The fast-tracking of the drug approval process.
