Summary of app features: The Kardia app works with external sensors to record portable and quick EKG. The app will review the recording for atrial fibrillation. The produced report can be shared with your physician or one of Kardia’s physicians through the app for further review.
This app is useful for: Any physician who wants to easily track their patients’ heart activity (i.e. cardiologists, internists, etc).
Good User Review: “My cardiologist recommended this last year for tracking my condition, Orthostatic Intolerance. It is very helpful to be able to capture EKG's any time and keep an ongoing record, plus it is as accurate as one in the Dr.'s office. Had some problems with my unit and Kardia helped me resolve the issue. Don't hesitate to reach out for some assistance if you need it. Great product, app, and customer support!” — Karyn Urner on Google Play
Limitations: Some features on Kardia are only accessible with a membership ($99/year or $9.99/month), such as unlimited storage of EKG data, monthly reports, and syncing with Apple Watches.
Alternatives: While Kardia is unique in their ability to record EKG, there are other apps that also provide information on heart health. Cardiio is an app that can measure heart rate using your smartphone camera. Instant ECG is a reference app with information about heart irregularities and exams.
Download: Purchase KardiaMobile ($99) or KardiaBand ($199), or download the Kardia app for free on the App Store or on Google Play to record EKG.
