Patients with constricted and tuberous breasts, oftentimes are very self conscious because they feel that they are uniquely deformed and don’t realize how common that is. It’s a normal developmental, asymmetry. Large volume fat grafting has changed the management for tuberous breast. Classically- we would need to make all types of incisions — do incisions within the breast to get it to expand and now by adding fat, using a technique called needle band release, which releases the adhesions with just a small needle as opposed to a big incision, and pre-expansion has really changed the way we managed the constrictor of the tuberous breast, and you can do that with or without implants.
