Session: Ocular Surface Squamous Neoplasia: Should I Excise or Do Something Else?
Transcript
For Retinoblastoma, the other most common primary intraocular tumor, one of the latest developments is coming from the University of Southern California from Jesse Berry where she is identifying a way to obtain a liquid biopsy of the tumor and this is a way to obtain aqueous from a child with retinoblastoma, analyze the aqueous for the retinoblastoma mutation and this will enable the physician, the ocular oncologist to first of all decide if the patient has Retinoblastoma or not with not actually doing a biopsy of the tumor and also follow the tumor over a period of time with multiple liquid biopsies to determine if the tumor is responding to therapy or not or if the therapy will have to be changed.
