Summary of app features: Canopy Speak is a medical translator app. It includes pre-saved phrases in many different languages that can be read or played aloud. In addition to general phrases, the app also includes common phrases from different specialties. If this form of communication is not enough, the app also connects users with live medical interpreters for further translation.

This app is useful for: all medical providers who face language barriers with patients.

Good User Review: “As a Medical student this has been an amazing resource. I started using it as a tech on a surgical unit, but found it even more useful when asking complex questions in other languages. The app has superior organization of languages, specialties, and topics. I feel it has definitely improved my patient care for patients with limited English proficiency.” — BliveMe2 on the App Store

Limitations: Users can only select from pre-selected and pre-recorded phrases, so communication possibilities are limited. In addition, the services are only available in a few select languages.

More from this developer: Canopy also has medical English and medical Spanish apps, Canopy Learn. Providers can learn medical terminology of these two languages for their practice.

Download: free on the App Store or on Google Play.
